Training
Charlotte originally trained with Pilates in Motion, qualifying as an IPTA Pilates Mat Teacher in 2017 with a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates. Her curiosity & thirst to learn led her to continue her movement education with Polestar in 2018. She is now a Comprehensive Polestar Pilates Practitioner; teaching group and bespoke classes both online and in a fully- equipped studio.
Charlotte’s understanding of movement is significantly informed by her training in Physical Theatre at École Jacque Lecoq (Paris) and her experiences of injury and rehabilitation whilst playing competitive sport. Other than Pilates, Charlotte loves swimming, walking, cooking and dancing and previously played lacrosse for England!
THOUGHTS ON PILATES
“Pilates for me is about the connectedness of things. The connection between our
minds and bodies. The connection between every ligament, bone and muscle fibre- how it all fits together and works as an ever adapting whole. Pilates for me is a discovery. A discovery of where our body is at and what our body is capable of. It is a celebration of how remarkable our bodies are; to adapt and compensate around injury and circumstance, but also a reminder of how each part can function at its best!
Pilates is about the joy of movement! The joy of harnessing our thoughts to make
something happen. The joy of aligning, strengthening and making the most of what we
have.
I love to move. I love the flow of movement that happens when everything is working well together. I love what happens when we slow down, breathe deeply and engage- feel the breath fill our lungs and allow it to guide and enhance the quality of our movement. I delight in enabling others to experience this too.
Pilates is about showing up, being where we’re at and intentionally working towards
something stronger, freer and more whole.” Charlotte
